The clients had a problem with this wall in the background. During our interview it was discovered that Barbara always felt cramped when her family would come over for dinner with the grandkids. She also liked to bake and had the desire to teach her grandkids how to cook and was excited about conducting “classes” with the kids. Larry just liked the idea of more space and also wanted to bring the beautiful outdoor garden “into” the visual space of the kitchen. So we developed a plan….. So we created a “Great Room” . Notice the seat window that acts as the 14th seat when the table is fully extended or two kids at the end. The windows bring in the outside garden. The far right is the “baking area” with hidden appliances that pop up easily on trays for use. Notice also the second sink. The first family dinner was a huge success and the client was thrilled with the results and eases of use the space provided.
